The homestretch… Mentally, one of the most challenging things I’ve ever experienced. Trying to stay insanely present while being wildly curious about what tomorrow will bring and alllllllll the questions that come with it. ⁣⁣⠀

Since becoming pregnant, I’ve tried to make upper body work more of a priority. I normally am an abs + a$$ kinda gal but I know I’m gonna need just as much upper body strength postpartum as I will lower body. ⁣⁣⠀

I’ve loved incorporating a pregnancy ball for this finisher because you get an insane amount of bonus core work, especially during the 3rd trimester. ⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
Modifications: Keep feet flat the entire time OR sit on a bench vs a ball. To make it more advanced (non-pregnancy option) you can stand vs sit, incorporate heavier dumbbells and use a dumbbell for the final exercise vs pregnancy ball 👌🏼⁣⁣⠀

Let’s talk core work durning pregnancy, shall we. ⁣⁣⠀
I’ve had multiple conversations lately with other babes who are pregnant and a common theme that keeps coming up is that some women are too afraid to do core exercises during their pregnancy for fear of causing DR (diastasis recti) so they are just avoiding it all together. ⁣⁣⠀

Trust me, I get it… I’m freaked out about that too but imo, NOT focusing on exercises that strengthen the core can actually cause far more issues both during pregnancy and postpartum.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
Keep it mind, not all core exercises are created equal. There are definitely certain exercises you will want to avoid (crunches, twisting, etc) but there are still SO many exercises that you CAN do to promote a strong, healthy core. ⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
A message that I have for all my mamas out there is to OWN YOUR PREGNANCY. Trust yourself, empower yourself, educate yourself and encourage yourself to have the strongest pregnancy imaginable. ⁣⁣⠀
